It looks like Belkin is getting into the home automation game as well, and are planning on selling consumer friendly home automation modules under the 'WeMo' name, which can be interfaced with a free smartphone app. The modules will communicate with a central node, which will also have a 802.11 interface, allowing IP based communications with the system. At first, there will be 2 types of modules: The WeMo Home Control Switch (F7C027fc), which will run $49.99, and the WeMo Motion Sensor + Home Control Switch (F5Z034fc), which will run $99.99.
The product will be available sometime this summer at most major retailers and online at Amazon.com & Belkin.com. See below for the press release with more details. CocoonTech is also @ CES this year, so we'll try to get some more details.
