/archive/j/news/2011/9/CEDIA/iPort_A.jpg/archive/j/site/logos/cedia.jpgiPort, the company known for producing various mounting products, unveiled their latest product; the LaunchPort system. It's the first inductive charging solution for the iPad 2, and I must admit, it works really well. Since CocoonTech also manages the #1 list for all iPad 1 & 2 mounts, I have been exposed to MANY mounts, and this is definitely one of my favorite ones.
The LaunchPort solution consists of 3 products: the PowerShuttle, which is basically an iPad case, the BaseStation, which is a desktop stand, and the WallStation, which is a wall-mountable version of the BaseStation. The PowerShuttle will cost $149, while the BaseStation and WallStation will cost $199. The product will be available later this year.
Instead of trying to explain how everything works, the iPort folks were kind enough to give CocoonTech readers a demonstration. See below for the video, pictures and the announcement.
