CES 2011 Exclusive Update - FortrezZ
CocoonTech stopped by the FortrezZ booth to see their ZWave (whole house) water shut off valve product. Basically it is a ZWave enabled valve that you install in the main inlet to your house (much like the WaterCop and Elk Valve) and it will close when it receives a ZWave signal from it's included battery operated water/temperature sensors.
The valve plugs directly into your 120 volt AC outlet, but can also be powered from a 12 volt DC source.
