ELK just announced the availability of their first ELKRP2 Release Candidate.  The software is .NET based (which hopefully will allow for some long needed GUI improvements), and can be run side by side with the older version of ELKRP.  The software can be downloaded from the M1 dealer site.  See the press release below for more details.

Sorry, I don't have most of the answers, but ElkRP works on my Win 7 machine.

Just an FYI... I get an "Elk Remote Programming Main Shell has Stopped Working" when trying to launch this on Win7 64-bit.

It works on my copy of Windows 7 too. I was following the instructions on the download page which mentioned an incompatibility with Windows 7. The audio features seem to require an update to the M1XEP firmware that is not yet released. Any new features or is this just a re-write to prepare for the future?

Are you running 32-bit or 64-bit Win7?

Yes, you will need a new firmware for the M1XEP. I believe it is supposed to include impoved Russound support as well as Nuvo and Proficient.

It does appear to be a 64-bit issue. It's running fine on Win 7 32-bit.
