GridPoint announced that they have aquired Lixar, a software energy management company.  GridPoint is working hard on building a smart grid service/product, where utilities can control all aspects of the house in order to manage energy demands.  What is interesting here is that Lixar's product supports X-10, INSTEON and Z-Wave.  Can you imagine your utility being able to control more than just HVAC, including your lights, appliances and more?  See below for the full press release.
