ASUS EEE Box

I have some old Elo touch screens, VGA input and serial touch screen output.

I'm looking for a relatively low cost, very low noise, easy on the eyes PC to run them and am thinking about the ASUS EEE Box 202 at around $300. It has a DVI output but appears to include a VGA adapter. I'd have to add a serial to USB converter.

Does anyone have any experience with these boxes?
Any thoughts on why this match up (EEE BOX & Elo) wouldn't work?
Any other boxes to look at instead?

Thanks!

I run 2 Eee Box 202's. One for a 24X7 music server + IP Camera Viewer; the other is my 24X7 VWS macine feeding weather station data to my other systems as well as displaying it through a modulator feeding my TVs. Both are using the VGA adapter just fine. The VWS connection is through a USB serial adapter which works fine. I do not use the built-in wireless features so they only draw about 17W apiece.

I have a friend who has one as a media client, he likes it well enough but it's not doing HD.

You might also look at a little valley, a little cheaper and DIY has a serial port and PCI slot too, VGA by default optionally you can have svideo too.

Collin, thanks. I'm not familiar with that. Might you have a link?
