Easier for itunes people to charge $1-3 since CC already on file.
The breakdown typically is if theyre willing to get their card out, theyre Willing to do $9.
I ran a test once
$9.95 = 3% conv off hit
$19.95 with 50% off coupon = 4%
$19.95 = 2%
$39.90 (or whatever it is) with 50% off coupon (19.95 net) = 2.8%
$39.90 = 1%
People are fucking retarded. Blame the internet for making everyone expect to get something cheaper than they should. But yes, while I wouldnt say 75% off would increase so much, I would say discount your programs, use coupon codes, etc.
Best way to do anything though is to take the adobe approach. Bundle with some yahoo or google adware bundles, and give for free i guess.
