Automatic home generator

Sorry for the confusion.
I would like to know if it is possible to install such a regulator so
when there is a power failure to have the generator work for
let's say, 6 hours at the time, and restart withing another 6 hours...

Most auto starting auto switching generators have an on / off switch in their panel that you can wire to or other control wiring. There is no problem starting the generator or turning it off after a time the problem is to restart it you need to include steps that will disconnect the transfer switch or have a generator that won't start sending power till the generator is fully up to speed. This is all dependent on the generator (like a small Kohler). Best thing is to talk over your needs with an electrician who regularly installs generators and try to blend his expertise with yours.....

Just curious as to why a 6hr run time?
