Looking for some advice here. So I have installed an Elk M1G in every house I have owned because it is easy to setup and is a reliable system.I just moved into a new place and it has a DMP XR150 installed and it is a closed system that I am unable to program, and I hate that. I am looking to install an M1G in its place but I have some tricky things that need to be figured out.
At this new place, I have two additional buildings each about 300' away from the main house. There are some major things between the main house and them that would not lend itself to trenching a line out to them. There is however a network connection to both of these buildings using point to point transceivers . Both buildings also have power. The current system uses a wireless system of some sort that seems to work most of the time, but will occasionally lose signal.
My question is what is the best way to get those other buildings covered with the Elk? In the past I have used the M1XRFTWM with success inside the same home, but I am not sure about the range on that one. I also see the M1XRF319 claims long range capabilities.
