I have had a Rokonet WatchOut PIR (http://www.rokonet.com/newsletter/issue_6/html/focus.html) monitoring my front yard for two years. I am very happy with the product. It rarely false alarms with exception of a group of squirrels playing chase. Its packaged with a variety of mounts and lenses. The con is the price.

Whats nice about PIR in front yard is that I can see someone coming to door before they knock.

How much did you pay for that motion detector?  How does it handle direct sunlight exposure?
