I plan to light up the exterior perimeter of my home on motion. I am going to give the HAI wireless PIRs a shot and see how long they last in the weather. I am almost out of wireless zones so I think I will just pile 4 of these onto 1 zone and see how that works. I am ok with all the lights coming on if motion is detected anywhere around the house.

I picked up one to play with. This is what it looks like on the inside:

You need to set AUTO or PULSE mode. AUTO is supposed to be for "Harsh" conditions. What this really means I'm not sure.
There is a weight selector for sensativity. 15 or 25 kg.
On the left is the tamper sensor and on the right is a small button to put the unit into programming mode. The magnet sensor is on the right as well.
The round item in the middle is the actual motion sensor.
There is a blue LED that seems to only be used for testing and set up. It doesn;t seem to flash during regular operation.

More to come as I figure out how to mount this. I guess you just drill a hole in the case and stick some screws in the wall.
