I was curious about the dozen or so folks here that use the Blog feature here. Of course there could be more that we simply can't see if they have it configured to be private. Mine was totally private until the other day. Why not? If I was going to post blog entries at all, was my intent that I only see them?

Now I am curious, of those of you who have "public" blogs here, do you also allow non members to view? Maybe it has to do with why you chose to blog in the first place. Mine is set so that CT members only can view. How about yours?

i know this sounds stupid...but whats the differenc between a discussion board like this and a 'blog'? Is a blog more intended to be a diary? If so whats the difference between a blog and a showcase in case of Cocoontech website?

The blog is indeed more like a diary, and I was hoping more people would use to document the progress of their projects instead of the show case forum (since it offers several advantages). The blog + gallery feature would make a great replacement for the showcase forum, just need more people to use it

I had originally intended I think to use it like a "timeline" of sorts that I could use to refer back to from time to time and at least have a history that would help me remember when certain home related events had occured, like a diary. Posting items where it really isn't intended to provoke response or discussion among CT members, yet if someone cared to comment or discuss, it would be fine. (Not that I am doing anything super interesting - so maybe more like a semi-public diary)
I suppose different persons have different agenda. Being semi-paranoid, the ability to remain somewhat anonymous, yet be able to share real things in my life with no one in particular, except those maybe with similar interests - is cool. While keeping it a "private" blog, open to CT persons only, it seems more "safe", if you will - not really directly exposed to the world, but knowing anyone with enough interest can see it, with a simple CT sign-up. For now I like it that way.

Enough ramblin!

Edit -
Still interested in the original question - can anyone view your blog, or just CT members?

I've been using my blog as a "look what I have been up to" thing. One day someone may stumble across a post that they find interesting and want to know what other things I am into. So I use it to chronical all the different hobbies that I am into. I'll also use it to talk about changes I make to my HA system but I try not to make changes too frequently because it cost me money .

Mine is set for cocooners only. If someone is going to look into my personal life then they need to at least be able to take the time to sign up and hopefully contribute.
