Reflecting on my last post about it being a good idea.
Yup; its eye candy and here I would see the attraction to those mesmerized by anything that looks like a cell phone in a wall switch with automation features connected to the cloud.
That is the way things are today and that is what sells.
Creating an automation hub / device that small and is integrated with a cell phone or two will surely attract many automation newbies.
I know of one or two automation users that have taken older generation PDA phones and turned them into mini touchscreens using their built in wireless only. Old being 1-2 years old.
I don't think I would like to have to utilize a wall switch that I would have to get up close and personal to use it; sort of like that tactile feel even in the dark relating to turning on a light in a room.
I am playing / testing multiple touch screen tables; one feature that I like is that the LCD illumination is mostly off and even turning it on in the middle of the night is irritating to me; but that is my age and younger folks are used to that sleeping with their cell phones.
Personally I wouldn't mind seeing a regular UPB switch with a bit more intelligence to it but still looking like a conventional light switch.
