Geeks.com has color video cameras starting at under $15 which are plenty good enough to see the baby. I have a few of these just to see what is going on at home while we are away. They have one with lots of LEDs to provide illumination at night which helped me track down the rodent doorway into our basement. Any of these can conect to the video input on any TV and you are on your way. I even split the signal with an audio y-cable so I can monitor the driveway from a couple TVs, and the signal seems unimpared.
If you want to see better detail, like enough to determine the kid is still breathing, be prepared to spend a bunch more.
