Cleaning up some wiring

Hi Folks! I am in the process of cleaning up some wiring. Please see the attached pic which shows 2 of my cans, one above the other - with wires passing from a regular circle knockout hole in an Elk can through a "receptacle" knockout in the other Elk can.

Any comments are appreciated - I really don't like the looks of it - wish the top can could also be a simple circular knockout. It would be cool if they made a plate that would cover the receptacle and provide a round hole.

Something like this or this

I think that he is coming into the back side of teh electrical outlet and the back of a single gang box so there are no screw holes for a cover plate.

EDIT

I just looked at the pics again and it is not the back of a single gang box, it is teh hole whre a single gang box is meant to be installed.

I mounted a single gang box into my enclosure's single gang cutout. The cover plate attaches to the box.

For a LV pass through, I would cut the back off a single gang box, mount it in the single gang 'knockout', and use a cover plate over the box.

How about a cheap piece of acrylic. Cut it to size, drill the holes to match where the box would mount then drill whatever size hole(s) you need?

Flexible grommet material would be my suggestion. We had to buy miles of it for a job at one of the colleges here that required 2 and 3" knockouts to panduit.

That is assuming you're not bothered by the side of the hole.

The real way, although it might not be easy or possible, would be to blank off the holes you used and install nipples or short pieces of pipe.

Elk's KO's are for metal single gang old work style boxes.

If it's just asthetics, pick up Caddy MPLS or low volt ring and a mid-nylon plate and drill as needed. About $3 worth of parts.

I'd still suggest a straight nipple and proper fittings. Maybe $10-15 with the cost of a hole saw, assuming you don't already have one. Blank off the outlet hole and line up the enclosures and drill as needed. Add a KO seal if they're way off.

I don't know why I was thinking Leviton SMC. Could swear I read it earlier, must have been a different thread.
