i've been following the development of techcrunch's $200 touchpad. they were trying to hit a $200 user price but now they're hoping to hit $299. here's the latest update:

I hope this works out, at that price they should sell millions. The best thing for me is that the hardware is good enough you should be able to run other Operating Systems on it also.

Hum ... I wonder if we will see this manufactured under a differnt name in the near future? It appears to me to be a case of "This is a really good product we'd better take it over"

Except there is surely going to be some suits regarding intellectual property, patents, and other issues. From the look of things, one "partner" entity is simply trying to cut out the other "partner" entity without compensation. We'll see how it plays out. It certainly looked like a very promising device.

Looks like fusion is going ahead with plans of production but at $500 price tag. We can only see where the lawyers take this.

Yeah, damage, I read that one earlier. I loved all the comments. My favorite (because I'm mean spirited) was, "I had ZERO idea that Chaka from land of the lost was the mastermind here, makes perfect sense."
