Do I need a new ELK M1G control?

For a few weeks now my 2 year old M1G will randomly announce “LEVEL ONE” through the out 1 speaker. This happens usually twice a day. This is random and not initiated by keypad commands. Also the firmware for the M1XRF2H receiver will somehow get erased, which leaves the wireless system inoperable until we update the firmware again through ElkRP. Our installer wants to replace the M1G control board at my expense. We’re frustrated and would appreciate any advice.
Thanks

History of the board?

Has a bootstrap program been loaded with a new database? System backup battery under the plastic cover been removed and panel fully defaulted/reprogrammed?

Could be possibly a corrupted program or DB.

DEL, Thanks for the reply
I'm unclear what a bootstrap program is, but this system had not been worked on or manipulated in at least 6 mos. prior to this happening.
We have done a factory default as described on pg. 37 on the installers manual.
I was unaware that the system backup battery should be removed. Can you explain the proper procedure?

Underneath the plastic shield there should be a flat cell battery, like a CR2032 or similar.

Bootstrap is a basic and generic program with only enough hardware enabled and programmed to see if the condition follows the hardware or is software related. In your case, I'd recommend a fresh install of RP and a fresh panel DB programmed after dumping the panel and pulling the battery out for about 30 seconds.
