Elk M1 Gold Interface with Notifier AFP-200 FACP?

Hi All,

I am in the early stages of acquiring my Elk M1 Gold system and components.

This will be installed in a area that also has a  AFP-200 Intelligent Fire Alarm Control Panel with approximately 30 smoke detectors, CO Dectors, LNG detectors, and a notification circuit.

I am curious as to if the M1 will accept a data input from the AFP-200 Panel?

My only other thought is to wire a NO FCM module from the AFP-200 to the #16 and it will only identify it as a "fire alarm" but lack any of the specific zones.

We are forced to keep the existing afp-200 due to local codes.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, but the legalities of doing such is a very large liability point.

You can't connect any hardware that is non-UL or FM to a FACP and maintain it's listing...since it's a FACP, that means most likely it's a required system, so it's a hands off item. An insurer would have a field day if they found the connection of the 2 systems after a loss.

You could connect multiple control modules (I can't remember off the top of my head if the 6 module cards will work on a 200 or not) but if you configure the FACP software zones appropriately, then you can sum the data to a M1 input card and have enough of an idea as to what area generated the alarm. Very straightforward.

You are not going to be able to get point by point data to the M1 easily.
