ELK RM Cameras?

I'm gonna start building a house in a few weeks and have been lurking around here for months. I'm going to go with an ELK M1 Gold and Zwave (mainly Leviton Vizia RF+), and plan on several of the Elk ELK-TS07 in wall touchscreens.

My next step is spec'ing cameras. Is this small list the only cameras that are known to work?
* Hunt HTN-7600G
* Panasonic BL-C10A
* Panasonic BB-HCM311A (uses BL-C10A settings)
* Panasonic BL-C30A (uses BL-C10A settings)
* Visiontech (VIP1)
* Vivotek PZ6112

I've researched these cameras and haven't been that impressed - but I'm not camera expert either.
I'm wanting POE cameras - maybe 2 interior and 2 exterior (eave mounted).

I like these analog Leviton cameras, but not sure. Any ideas??

It seems that all the Mjpeg IP cameras have their own protocol for the image part of the webpage that they serve. When the TS07 captures an image from an IP camera it extracts the image and displays it on the LCD screen. Therefore each IP camera has to have a driver written so that the LCD screen knows where to capture the image data from the served webpage.

You can use any analog camera(s) into a Dedicated Micros DVR that is on the driver list.

MPEG4 protocol IP cameras do not have drivers yet.

"MPEG4 protocol IP cameras do not have drivers yet. "

I realise the difficulties in commenting on future feature/function enhancements, but does this indicate that there is an intention to expand the support to include mpeg4 camera's (this year?)

Regards Jim

Thanks for the info - I'll check out the Dedicated Micro DVR stuff and will prob go analog but wire for IP and analog.

Anyone got a good suggestion for sub $500 analog exterior cameras which mount to a single gang box in the eave? PTZ is not very important to me.

Is this something the community could write? Since there is no advance image processing I'd imagine we could churn out a hundred different drivers very quickly if you could provide the APIs. Might be easier for all involved.

I should clarify my statements. ELKRM or ELKRMS is capturing the images from the IP cameras and displays the images on the ELKRM(S) screens. ELKRM(S) is written in .NET and only uses the Windows CE compatible subset instructions of .NET so that the program will run on Windows XP or Vista and on a Windows CE device.

I understand that a MPEG4 decoder for Windows CE has been a problem. The availability of a decoder and the processing power required has slowed MPEG4 development. I will have to check on third party driver development integration. It is a good idea.

Hi I have ELK setup and about to add cameras for RM monitoring. Before I buy some of the (older) ones on the supported list, I just wanted to check if there were any imminent updates which would affect my purchase eg..

1) MPEG4 support
2) Additions to supported camera list
3) Availability of driver code to cutomise for other MJPEG cameras on the market (as suggested in previous post)

(I dont want to use anolgue cameras & DVR solution as house wired with Cat5)

Im in UK so will not be going to EHX - I guess ELK dont attend any European trade shows?
