Feedback noise when M1G answers phone.

Hi, I have an M1G setup including the Ethernet interface and elk wireless. The issue I'm having is in trying to call into (remotely) to access the system. When I call in to the M1G via an external phone, I hear a high pitched squeal similar to a "microphone/speaker" feedback in between the M1 "lady's" voice. The sequence is... the M1G answers the phone, I hear 3 beeps, I enter ***, the system responds with "please enter your pass code". As soon as she is finished with the word "code", the noise, feedback starts and makes it impossible to hear anything else. I'm running a DSL Router and have a filter on the system (have double checked and even replaced it). It almost sounds like a modem and since it doesn't start until she is through with her message, I'm wondering if the system isn't trying to send some message via the internal modem.

Thank for your help!

Try this. Disconnect all house phones from your RJ31X jack. This way you can isolate the problem away from your inside wiring. Then you will know something is amiss with the the M1G.
