I'm having an iron fence with 3 gates built for my yard. Any suggestions on locks for the gates?
One will rarely be used. Another one will be used mostly for just getting the mower between the backyard and the front. But the 3rd one is going to be an 8 foot high scary chop-your-fingers off monstrosity on the side of the garage. You'll have to go through this first when entering the service door on the garage.
My thought is a standard latch with a combo padlock on it for the rarely used gate. A mechanical code lock for the mower gate. And either a mechanical or some sort of electronic lock for the service entry gate. I'm not averse to putting a door strike in that one for future use.
Anyone else been through this? I need to get the lock specs to the fence builder so he can build the gates appropriately.
