GlobalCache GC-100 vs. Bitwise BC4

I'm deciding on the GC-100 or the Bitwise BC4.

It looks like the GC-100 looks very similar in functions to the BC4 for a lower price. The BC4 has the advantage of a built in library.

I plan on using it with Homeseer and its associated plugin.

Any experience with either products pros and cons is appreciated.

I can't say anything about the HS plugin or it's capabilities but I can speak about the difference between the BC4 and the GC100. When interfaced via another software package, both are similar in IR and serial communication capabilities. Basically equal. Depending on the "front end", though, the BC4 has the added benefit of it's GPIO ports, socket (IP) command of devices and temp sensor. However, the BC4 also has the ability to be configured and ran via their project editor software. Thus, as a standalone unit with a massive advantage over the GC. Their Project Editor is AWESOME! The macro abilities are great and the fact that you can interface with it in virtually anyway you want (a Linux based system is do able but, more difficult) is a huge benefit. On top of that (and keep in mind how long I have been around the AV/HA industry), NO ONE (AND I MEAN NO ONE) OFFERS BETTER PRODUCT SUPPORT. Period. I have had the most rewarding interactions with Bitwise and think highly of their ownership, as well as the product.
