Good results from the lightning detector - but a question about the two counters

We are in our first electrical storm since I installed the lightning detector. It sat at 0 for about 4 days (no false strikes) and I've just counted up to 12 strikes in 20 min. The ground I have is 'sub par' but it seems to be working just fine.

I have a question - this is a dual channel counter and both of the counters appear to be incrementing (A has 10 hits, B has 12). Is there any significance to both of these or should they be incrementing together and providing the same information?

Thanks
Ken

Ken,

They should be incrementing together. The descrepancy could be caused by the fact that some of the strikes detected can be of very short duration and that one of the counter channels may be a bit faster than the other channel. Since the information should be used for general strength of the storm the fact that the exact count differs should not be a problem.
