Greetings all!
My name is Dave, and I have been a Telecommunications Specialist for the DoD for over 38 years now.  I purchased an HAI Omni Pro II several years ago(around 2002) with the intent of installing it when purchased.  As luck (or lack thereof) would have it, I was diagnosed with a large brain tumor and have been being treated at the University of Michigan.  Long story short, several years later, I am now fine and just (finally) completed the installation of my OPII (to my delight).  Installation involved the removal of the old Secant Cardio system, reusing the existing alarm contacts and replacing the controller with the OPII.  I'm not much of a programmer, and it truth, have avoided any type of programming whenever possible. As such, finding this site is truly a Godsend.
Having just powered up the system today, I am still awaiting my Proximity readers and smoke detectors (to replace the outdated ones), but decided to power up the system to provide security for our home.  I'll add the other components as they arrive and I get them installed.  I look forward to reading through your many examples of programming both with events and flags.  Although I pretty much hate programming, this looks like it will be a rewarding as well as educational challenge.

Best Wishes!!

These systems don't have a full blown programming language, they use more of a procedure or command list than a computer program. The logic can get complicated as you add system components that interact with each other but start out simple and you should be able to teach yourself.

I'm an Elk guy but I'm sure that Leviton users here will be able to get you going and maybe point you to online tutorials.

Mike.
