HAI 2 wire heat

I got it to work...  Red  +12volts on the 12V Switched + Terminal   The - or Black wire to the + terminal on the Omni Zone...  Jumper set to SMK...
I wish this was somewhere in the HAI litature..  Zone set to FIRE...  have to wait 80 seconds for the unit to reset...

Thanks for the input..

That is strange. I happen to be installing System Sensor 5600 units with temp sensor and ROR and they don't require any voltage. These units are simply wired together in parallel with an EOL resistor across the last unit. Maybe you can exchange your 4451 unit for 5600 units.

The  4451 has Blinking status LEDS   So they need some voltage.    It now reports OK and test OK     From now on it's 4 wire Heat for me.  ..  ..

I think you're making a BAD mistake.

Unit is 24VDC only. On every piece of documentation out there. Operating is 15-30 nominal...far different than 12VDC.

Just because you found that believe that it works properly doesn't mean it is.

That isn't the problem, the 4-wire version uses the same voltage. You need one designed for 12V or a mechanical one like the 5600 series that doesn't require any voltage. The mechanical ones only trip once, but the center pops out so its easy to spot. Also, if this trips, chances are replacing the sensor will be the least of your problems.

I'm guessing it's not going to work as intended or designed....if at all.

Unfortunately, the OP doesn't appear to want to listen.

Finally got a hold of System Sensor  the Heat Sensor is 15 to 35 Volts..  Don't know why it reports as OK  on 12 volts..  but I ordered a replacement 5604 and I will be done with it today..  Thanks everyone for your input and support.
