HAI 600W Dimmer Switch in 3 Way Applications

I am replacing most of my switches with 600W dimmer switches. I want to use the same switch in 3 way applications instead of the axillary switch because I did not want the LED to be on when the load was on the axillary switch.

Does the switch need to be wired differently for this to work? Do I just link the switches in UpStart?

You can install the dimmer switch using just the hot/neutral lines and not attach anything to the load. You can then setup transmit links in UpStart so that when that remote switch is tapped on/off, that it will send the link to the master switch. If you're doing status tracking, make sure you also set the remote switch to react to links from the master so they stay in sync.

I was able to get the switches linked, but I have not had much success getting the status tracking to work. If I turn the load on or off with the "slave" switch it reports back to the "master" and LED matches on both switches. However, when controlling the load from the "master" it does not change the LED on the "salve"

I got the LED status tracking working properly but now I cannot get the non load bearing switches to act the way I want. I have my hall lights so that a single top rocker tap brings them to 70% and a double tap 100%. This works perfectly on the main switch, but the secondary switch just has normal top rocker functionality even if I change it on the rocker switch tab.

Yeah, it's not going to work that way. The rocker switch tab sets how the local load is controlled, not the remote one. Since you don't have a local load attached, the settings on that screen are ignored.

Try this - on the Transmit tab, set your link (receive link for master switch) and change the single click action to "Activate" and the double click action to "Goto On". In the master switch the receive link should be set to 70%. This should make it so the single click activates the 70% link, and the Goto On command forces it to 100%.

I think this should do what you want.
