HAI vs On-Q/Legrand component interchangeability

Some of the On-Q/Legrand components such as the Serial interface board and others visually appear to be rebranded HAI components. Are such items interchangeable or do the chips have something coded into them that make them unique to On-Q or HAI? If some items are interchangeable, is there some list somewhere that tells me which items can be interchanged?

Hello Paul,

Sorry, un-familiar with what you are asking, but what I can tell you is that mixing a major component such as a serial interface from OnQ with HAI would more than void the warranty from the factory. They may seem the same, but I would be hesitant about trying it myself.

Sorry for the confusion. It was more curiosity than anything. I am not sure I need to keep the HAI serial interface module I have and I may decide to sell it. If I do, I was curious if I could sell it as being compatible with the On-Q system. I saw someone selling one on eBay with a claim that it was compatible with both HAI and On-Q. I don't want to make that claim without input from someone with firm knowledge about it.

I wouldn't count on ebay claims, apparrently the turbo out of a Porsche 911 will fit in my SAAB 900SE with no modifications ...

Not sure about the serial interface, but i know many other parts are interchangeable. I use an HAI thermostat and zone expander on my On-q set up. no issues. I havent hooked up the relay board to see if it works too.

You got to be thinking WHAT ABOUT MY PIECE! Lol. Not sure, but I would GUESS yes. But some parts dont, like the hifi.

Although I am unaware of a list, most modules are interchangeable. Here are some examples:

-HAI Model 10A17-1 Serial Expander - Works with OnQ, HAI and Aegis panels
-HAI Model 10A06-1 Hardwire Expander - Works with OnQ, HAI and Aegis panels
-All temp sensors and t-stats will work on all panels
-LCD consoles will work on all panels (unsure about touchscreens)
-HAI Model 17A00 will work on HMS 1100, Pro II and Aegis 3000
-Software is not interchangeable
