HAI Wireless and "Homelink"

I'm considering extending an existing Omni Pro II install with a wireless keyfob for the homeowner to deactivate the alarm before entering the garage from the car, and they really want to use the homelink transmitter on the visor of their car.

Of course, it already controls the garage door, but that trips the entry delay. These homeowners move pretty slowly, and find it uncomfortable to make it to the keypad within the entry delay time.

Has anyone integrated the HAI wireless receiver with "Homelink"? Any better options I should consider?

Personally I think its a bad mistake to use a wireless keyfob or transmitter to disarm the security system. It just makes it really easy for the wrong type of people to have free reign in the place if the transmitter is ever lost or stolen. Yes, yes, you can always make the argument you can remove the transmitter from the system, but will that be fast enough. And these people don't sound like the type to do any of that themselves. If these people have a hard time with a keypad and code, maybe consider biometric like a decent finger recognition device?

Sorry it didn't answer your question specifically, but I had to share that opinion.

Very true. I suppose a better flow would be to take that action and have it bypass the overhead door, but not disarm.

They already feel there's too much tech there, so putting more in won't work. I think the best plan is to integrate things to their homelink somehow.

Or maybe I should just action the overhead door going up to bypass the zone for 10 minutes or something.

You may have already considered this, but what about making the garage door a 2x or 4x entry delay zone type? This will allow extra time when coming in through the garage without making the front door entry time too long.

Yes, I've tried that. Thanks anyways.
