has anyone used webcontrol for gardening? Such as moisture sensors etc?

I have used it to measure moisture levels using Vegitronix sensor. I could have closed the loop to control relays but I had another solution for this already in place. It is not designed for outdoor use, but in my arid climate application I have had no issue with it being outdoors. I use powerline IP for communication and that has served me well. Again indoor Ethernet/Powerline adpter that was worked fine outdoors in dry climate.

I'm thinking of trying to grow some tomatoes in my basement this winter. I think the webcontrol will be perfect. Use it to turn on a pump monitor temps, turn on a light.

but I'm thinking I'll go with some kind of hydroponics.
