HDHomerun and Comcast?

Right now I have analog Comcast cable and use a MCE-PVR500 tuner card but I am looking to get a HDHomerun with the hopes of getting QAM channels off the cable. Comcast is threatening to force everyone into digital so I would like to hear from anyone with Comcast Digital that uses a HDHomerun box and what luck they have getting QAM channels as well as how it works without using the Comcast cablebox?

Thanks

John

Just as an aside, it is the FCC that is pushing the digital TV migration. You need an ATSC compatible tuner to get the digital channels, as long as they are not protected.

Actually the only thing the FCC is forcing is OTA signals. They do not directly effect cable or dish tv. I have a OTA HD tuner but the reception is not very good in this area and I am using a good antenna and I am within 11 miles of the towers.

Well I now have my new SageTV setup with the HDHomerun with QAM and a PVR-500 for SD cable. The HDHomerun is working great with SageTV. I was able to get all nine of the local digital channels off the cable. Sage used the dual QAM tuners without a hitch.

Two thumbs up
