I have a new Risco RP200GSXMUSB AGM Universal GSM Module so that my alarm system can be connected via cellular

Problem

My issue is just getting the GSM working. I'm using a Lycamobile prepaid sim that I think uses T-mobile.

After I have put in the Sim card and then plugged in the box, I see the red battery light come on briefly. Then i hear some relay click and the power LED comes on. However, the GSM LED never lights up. I think the GSM LED is supposed to cycle though it's status.

It seemed like I could just pop in a t-mobile compatible sim card and it would work since it's a universal version.

Any ideas what the problem could be? Is there a special kind of sim card? or some sort of programming that needs to be done?

Thanks for any help

Figured it out. Here's the solution:

In the manual, Item number 11 on the diagram is marked "GSM Industrial Module" It's basically a little circuit board that plugs into the main board.

If you see a gap underneath where the pins are showing, it means that board is not properly seated. Very gently push it in until you don't see the metal pins showing.

Once I did that, it started cycling through the GSM checks and I was able to make a phone call with a phone I plugged in.
