Home automation using avr raven.

Hello...

My name is Viraj Parab and i am a student in California State University, Long Beach. I am working on Avr Raven to implement the home automation application. I have two kits (two usb and four raven boards). I have flashed the raven boards and usb stick with Contiki OS using JTAGEICE mkII. then i changed the mac address of raven boards and i am able to form a network .

Now my plan is to connect three bulbs to three raven boards and turn them on and off using the usb stick. the USB stick will send a message to a particular raven board and the raven board will perform the control action (i.e turning the light on or off).

The major question is how do i achieve this?. I need as much information as possible.

How do you plan on controlling the lights? Is the Raven going to directly control some relays or is it supposed to talk to some industry standard protocols that exist? There's a whole lot of unknowns here - it'd help if you had specific questions.
