how to keep people out of back yard

I have motion sensors outside and if any motion is detected it announces inside and outside the house with the name of the area.

It works so well, even the neighbors dog avoids our property when he gets out.

I have had deer set off the announcement, but after a while they seem to avoid the lights and sound also.

I crank my Double Troubles up to 350 FPS and hit them with about 30 balls a second. Non lethal way to end a confrontation. I need to find a way to mount them to that turrent linked above

I'm thinking of replacing these with a pistol grip pump shotty with those bean bag rounds...

If you want to go crazy with this you might consider some of these ideas......

Place several outdoor motion detectors. On the first trip have it chirp an outside siren 3 times (a warning shot). On a Second trip turn a siren on for 15 seconds. On a third trip have it announce an instrusion message and then run the siren for a few minutes. At the same time have it turn on outside lights if its dark outside. Also have your panic button go right to the intrusion message, siren, call police etc. Make this a seperate area on your alarm that you can arm whenever you are not in your yard. Just be careful if you have meter readers etc that might need to get back there.

You can do all of this with the ELK if you are creative with switching in the outside speakers only for these events.

Digger, I'm interested in some of these things. What kind of wire could i use for outdoor motion sensors? I have a brick house, so I couldn't exactly pass a wire through the brick... I would have to run a wire outside for a small distance, so it would have to stand up to the weather.

I would also have to spend some time investigating the Elk programming. If the area is armed and a motion sensor is violated, wouldn't it alarm right away rather than chirping 3 times first?

And not ever having done it before, could you explain how to turn on and off speakers? I've heard people talk about it, but never understood how it could be done.

I just use Elk relays to open/close the speaker circuit. I've got an Elk M1XOVR for this.

The cheapest way? Get some eagle eyes and an X10 transeiver. I think I might have spent all of $50 to have my entire yard covered with motion sensors.
