Haiku IP Cameras, suggestions.

First, please pardon my ignorance. I'm a Haiku NOOB. I'd like to know if anyone is using reasonably priced IP cameras with Omni and Haiku. The HAI official "approved" cameras are in the $400-$500 price range. I need four cameras so I need them to be in the $100-$150 price range. I understand from reading the boards that all that's needed is for the camera to support streaming MJPEG and it should work, in concept, with Omni and Haiku. Any help would be appreciated.

The 1 MP indoor versions (Model FD8136) can be had for ~$200
 
You'll be hard pressed to find good IP cameras below that.
A lot depends on your requirements.  Do you need indoor, outdoor? 
What resolution - do you just want to view a scene or do you need to ID people or license plates?  Do you need recording?
 
I have one of the HAI cameras and thre are some issues i don't like, recording being one.
The other is trying to find the OEM supplier to get firmware updates, I still don't know who makes it for HAI, but I have seen similar form factors from other vendors.
 
PoE IP cameras are easy to install and setup.

Cameras supporting MJPEG not MPEG, should all work. Also static JPEG should work as well. An inexpensive line of cameras is offered by Foscam.

The foscam stuff is cheap but is very cheaply made, mine just died after 2 months of service. In this case it seems you get what you pay for.

I need outdoor. No license plate recognition. One cam is for watching the front door and it should be clear enough to identify faces. The rest of them are needed just to keep watch over the other entrances, looking for people being where they're not supposed to be.

The vivotek FD8134v is a 1MP outdoor camera with fixed focus lenses, it can be had for about $260-280
Their other outdoor options are more expensive. They feature higher resolution, variable focus lenses, WDR, etc.

I like IP cameras for their simplicity of installation.
You can find analog cameras much cheaper, but you'll generally need a camera server in order to view them on a network, and the cabling can be more difficult.

The Grandstream cameras are a pretty good value and of pretty good quality for the price range.  Their bullet cameras are metal and well made, and they just announced an improved dome-type camera (stationary) that makes a nice surface mount directional camera - both with IR, and both with a 1.3 and a 3.1MP version - the pricing on the new dome won't be out for another week with my distributors, but the pricing on the bullet is pretty reasonable.  Search online or you can PM me if you wish - I do sell them.

Be careful using the onboard IR illuminators on cameras.
They attract bugs because the bugs can see them. 
So spiders will build webs over the cameras and moths will flit around the lenses.
 
I use separate IR floods/illuminators in the areas I need to see in the dark/low light.
