Is it crazy to build a whole home audio system using a laptop?

1. Why would you want to have two different systems in your home (guessing location)?

2. You can easily do those same things with Sonos.

Won't be two, I'd be removing the Sonos.  I've been very displeased with their lack of integration and recent software changes.  Enough already, time for something new.

Even if it's totally unproven?

Or are you just mad at your foot?

What's your stake in this?  Why would you care?

It ain't like it's rocket science.  That and Denon's had a pretty decent track record for delivering quality sound products.

No stake - just curious.

The things you mentioned about Sonos may well be true with Denon.

And if I'm reading it right it has couple of what I would consider to be shortcomings.

Buy hey if you want to scrap what works in favor of something new that's fine by me.
