How do you tell the isy to skip lighting slots on the elk? I want the elk to skip certain lighting numbers or jut start with number 20 or so. Thanks.

I don't think you can. I often edit the XML file before importing it into the Elk to rename or delete entries I don't want, but I think if you edit the House/Unit code it would prevent the ISY from communicating with the Elk. This might be a good feature request to submit to Universal Devices on their forum, it would be nice to be able to have more control over the export/import process.

I wouldn't expend too much energy working on that problem right now. ISY keeps promising a full integration module for the Elk by year end which would eliminate the need to have lighting executed from Elk. The ISY should be able to execute lighting events directly based on the status of Elk zones or whatever. In other words, you should be able to do all of your lighting programs 100% in ISY even when Elk criteria are involved.

ISY keeps on providing wunnerful surprises ;-)

If they do this, I may finally take the ELK hanging on the wall in my basement seriously. Lord knows INSTEON would be gone from my house like a bad dream were it not for ISY's elegant dependability.

It's remarkable to me how an entire part of the home automation galaxy has begun slowly spinning around that tiny ISY box, like a constellation being spun off from a single star ....

That would be the best way to go. Besides having the convenience or having your lighting rules in one place, you also wouldn't need to use up the limited elk rule space.

I just hope ISY gets it out there soon....

I so agree. Insteon should pay royalties to ISY. I think a lot of people would have dumped Insteon had it not been for the genious of ISY. I really hope they pull through with the Elk module by year end!
