It's a puzzle

I have a NuVo Grand Concerto along with the dedicated NuVo Mute Module
I have an Elk M1G
I also have a Panasonic TA824 phone system with 2 incoming lines.

I would like Line2 connected to the Elk M1G for monitoring and remote control through the phone system.

I also need the Panasonic to do Paging through the NuVo GC (you know ... "Honey, Line 1 is for you" out all the audio zones)

I also would like to announce some security zone and automated things through from the Elk M1G through the NuVo GC. Things like "Front Doorbell is Ringing" or "Car Entering Driveway"

The NuVo Mute module accepts input for triggering from both a phone line and up to 2 seperate doorbells. I only have one doorbell though.

So ... How would you wire this?

If I am only have 1 doorbell can I use an output from the Elk attached to the second doorbell input to trigger the Page from the Elk?

Is there any magic to combining the audio from the Elk and the Panasonic?

Does Line2 have to go to:
1) the seizure module then 2) the Elk then 3) the Panasonic
or
1) the seizure module then 2) the Panasonic then 3) the Elk on one of the Panasonic extensions as a Single Line Phone?

thanks!

How does the NuVo mute module work? Does it detect audio or does it need a contact closure to activate? One weak point with the TA824 is that it does not provide a paging control relay output so it is hard to trigger paging equipment that needs a contact input. One nice thing about my Stargate is that it takes care of mixing external audio with internal spoken announcements. One approach with the M1 might be to use a cheap RatShack mixer to combine the M1 and TA824 audio and then feed the NuVo from that.

I'm quite certain it is contact closure.

Do you have any options that will work with that?
I take it then that the cable from the TA824 is nothing more than an audio out cable with a mini-jack?

Correct, it is just a line level audio feed. To get your contact closure you need to:

A- Come up with an audio activated relay that could be triggered by the audio out on the TA824 paging jack.

or

B- Use a loop detect relay on a spare extension line to detect paging. (Since this is a serious kluge involving a loop detect relay, an old system phone, and a spare unused extension port, it is not the option to pursue first.)

they refer to it as an SELV port
"safety extra-low voltage"

the NuVo Mute port can be setup to be triggered with <1 Volt. (Or was it 0 to 1 Volt?)
