A video on how to use NFC to accomplish a few cool HA things. I walked through:  
1) How and what I do in Car Mode (AutoStart spotify playlist, various apps.) Worked WAAAY better than using BT connected for me, 
2) Arrive home tasks (lights & nest)  
3) Leave home but dog here. (check doggy door, bedroom&bathroom doors, lights).

Thanks for the vid. Pretty interesting stuff. I may consider implementing some of those tags in the setup I'm working on now.
I was considering a "SmartThings" hub, but I see that it was unreliable for you. Have you looked at the latest iteration of the Mi Casa Verde Vera? (I think it's only for Zwave though, but that's what you're using, right?)

No more zWave controllers. The ISY is the 10th piece of hardware since 2005 that I've owned to try and manage it. If it doesn't work, i'm ripping it all out and going to RadioRA2.
