Keypad Beeps Too Loud

Ok... Probably a question for Spanky, but I'd love to hear from others if they share my sentiment...

We've found that, even with the keypad beep volume set to 1, the beeps during arming, disarming, etc., are still about twice as loud as I think we like them. We tend to arm/disarm late at night or in the morning... Both while either one of us is sleeping, or more importantly, almost always while the kid is asleep.

I like having the beep to have some feedback, I just want it to be even quieter.

Can anything be done that doesn't void the warranty?

Thx!

I have sound turned off completely on one because even at the lowest setting, they are too loud. I will be interested to hear from others as well.

That was my backup plan, but it just seemed too low-tech. Guess I shouldn't overlook the simple ones!

Hopefully this will be considered in the next hardware version of the M1's successor; I know a lot of people have asked for things like programmable volume control; it'd be nice to turn it down at night and back up during the day. Plus I don't really want to quiet down the door chimes to keep keypad beeps down, but I can work around that.

Kinda funny (to me at least) - I was picturing the standard little round piezo buzzer with the hole in the center... thought I had a brilliant idea, so searched the house for 20 mins for those little round bandaids thinking they'd be a great fit. Turns out, it's a tiny little opening facing downward. Either way, I cut a small piece of cloth tape and put it over the opening - big improvement! Right about half volume I'd have to say. I'll finish the other two here later tonight.
