Haiku Mavericks Server vs Non-Server

I currently have a Mini running 10.7.5 Lion Server.
 
I see that the upgrade path to Mavericks Server is to install the Mavericks upgrade and then purchase Server for $19.99.
 
I don't need Server for anything other than HH. Do I really need it for HH?

I went the exact path you did, from Lion Server to just Mavericks.  I didn't have any other need for the server functionality.
 
I didn't have to upgrade to Server, and HH works just fine.  Save the $20 and go by some beer!
