Motion M1 Zone Definitions

Just to confirm, when using a motion in a small room within view of both the keypad and entry/exit doors, the motion zone should also be set as Burglar Entry/Exit?

Seems like any other definition will get me in trouble since it will sense one moving between the keypad and door and vice versa.

Thanks

p.s. Any reason NOT to make the zone Force Armable?

I'm not in front of my ElkRP now, but I believe that's called the follower zone. I.E., entry/exit follower. It should trip the alarm instantly if there's motion and the door hasn't been opened, but if it's tripped after the entry/exit is opened then chill out for the disarm grace period.

Force arming would be good if the motion detector is looking at the keypad. Otherwise, if the motion detector trips, you can not arm the sytem.

IVB, thanks. I looked at that definition, but it is written relative to entry:

Burglar Interior Follower - For motions detectors, interior doors, etc. which may be in the keypad or entry pathway.
If an entry delay zone is violated first, this zone will delay (Follow) also, otherwise it will create an instant alarm.

So, if someone is arriving and violates the door first, the motion will "follow". All good.

But if you're on the way out and you've just armed at the keypad and have not yet exited/violated the door, then wouldn't the motion sensing you move toward the door be "otherwise it will create an instant alarm"?

No. The system does not fully arm until the exit delay period ends.

I have this exact situation and have the motion defined as an interior follower. Works great.

me 2, but i do have to stand still for a moment before I arm.. gona try Spankys idea about "force arm" too.

I understand you can't use Quick Arm with Force Armable. Additionally, you have to enter your code twice. I will have a similar situation, but I hope I can avoid having to use Force Armable.
