Need some Z-Wave controller help - I have brain lock

I'm sure this is a very basic question, but I can't seem to find anything in the archives. If I install a 4 scene z-wave controller in place of one of my existing switches, do I lose individual control of that switches circuit? If I want to still control that circuit individually do I just dedicate one of the scene buttons to that circuit? Soory for my ignorance,I just have brain lock on this issue. Thanks for any help.

I haven't seen a Z-Wave scene controller that can handle a local load. Doesn't mean that one doesn't exist...
