I'm moving pretty soon and will keeping my old place to use as a camp for snowmobiling and boating, hiking etc in summer. I have no system in it currently. In the 25 years I've lived there I've never removed the keys from my vehicles that are parked along the road. Once people realize the place is vacant that will change raqpidly. My house is a single level. Some windows are small and high off the ground requiring the use of a stepladder to access. Others are larger and at ground accessible level. I have 2 outer doors that each go into a parlor of sorts (front and back) and then another door to the inside. I have a detached garage and then a pole barn about 250 feet away with the snowmobiles and boat in it.
I do not plan on heating it or having a phone line connected, and no internet. It will have electric service. Should I go with a hybrid GSM service? will the wireless reach the shed to monitor it with out false alarms? Should i use sensors on the doors and windows in the house as well as occupancy sensors in the easliy accessible rooms? I'm open for any and all suggestions. I had been looking at something along the lines of this http://www.geoarm.com/pc1616-dsc-powerseries-cellular-hybrid-security-system.html
Again I'm open to suggestions. I need something reliable and something that I won't have to spend a lot of time explaining to family how to operate or program it.
TIA
