Haiku Newbie using Haiku

I am a newbie to HA and have just recently began adding a few HAI HLC UPB switches to my Omni Pro IIe controller.  Programming, thanks to numerous threads on this site, has gone a lot smoother than I expected.  Tonight I decided to download Haiku to my phone to use and a couple of things occurred or more importantly didn't occur.  I am looking for some help on what might be the cause.  
 
The first question, is it imperative to utilize HaikuHelper in order to see light status on Haiku?  Similar question in is HaikuHelper required to see buttons on the Haiku?  Neither light status or buttons are showing up and am sure operator error is the reason.

No you dont need HaikuHelper for lights or buttons.

Confirm you are using HLC mode in PCAcces.

You need long and short names for the elements, Haiku uses the long names, the Omni uses the short names.
IIRC, If there is no short name, Haike ignores the element.

Did you clear your cache in Haiku after making changes in PCAccess and the Omni?

I am using HLC mode in PCAccess but I did not clear the cache in Haiku after making the changes.  Thank you very much.  It works great now.
