Newbie: X10 for hardwire lighting????

Yes i understand that people have issues, but, really...is it worth paying $5k not to deal with them???

To me...yes it was worth it. I had a pretty good sized X10 system, was working great. Then I added something and it started to act REALLY funny. X10 is GREAT, so long as it is a SMALL install. say 5-10 pieces. Anything over that, and you are playing with fire. One wrong move, and you get burned.

You can always add the UPB pieces in, in segments. Do a little here, and a little there. Then the initial cost won't be as much.

That's what I did. Spread the cost out over time. Simply Automated parts are the cheapest UPB switches. Some people have noise on their lines, so they use Gen 2 stuff. I've not had any issues with my Simply Automated stuff (Gen 1).

my $0.02
