Next-Generation Wireless Services Crop Up in Korea

Korea is known to be far ahead when it comes to cell phone technology, and now The Korean Times has a great article about what the next generation wireless technology will be offering. They also include a few lines about a ZigBee based phone.

Early last December, domestic handset manufacturer Pantech & Curitel took the wraps off a zigbee phone, which is indispensable in activating electric switches and control electronics devices from a distance.

The high-end phone will hit the stands in time with the MIC’s plan of starting zigbee sensor-based home networking services this year, again faster than competing nations.

Coin-sized zigbee sensors and zigbee phones will revolutionize our daily lives as they help people remotely monitor and control lights or home appliances through a handset,’’ MIC project manager Kim Tae-geun said.
