With more and more people using WebControl baords, we have received few reports of this problems. We checked carefully with those customers reported problems. We believe most the problems reported are using relay board sharing the same power supply with WebControl. There was no separate regulator for power going to WebControl board and to relay board.
When relay operates, its coil can generate spike on the power line. If power supply can not filter well for the spike, such power noise could affect proper operation of WebControl board. Not all relay boards cause problem for WebCtronol when sharing power supply. However, if your WebControl is affected by such problem, please send email to [email protected]. We will work with you on that ASAP.
We had already made modification in our firmware to detect such a spike and adding logic to avoid problem. However, it is better to have seprate regulators, one for WebControl board, one for the relay board, by using 7809 or similar low cost regulator. Thanks for your attention.
