Now Playing running on my Droid 2 Global

I now have Now Playing running on my Droid 2 Global (via RDP) and it is working pretty awesome.

I am doing this for the time being for a couple reasons. One is that both the HSPro and Elve JRMC plugins are not there yet to handle all aspects of multi zone and library functions. Second this allows me to build a pilot for the Droid's resolution.

I shrunk my Nokia 770 skin down and it worked fine but I will start to work on a Droid specific skin.

I am using this one. This guys has been awesome at responding to emails. Most within minutes. And yes once you setup the connection information you hit the widget then hit the saved connection and it logs in and Netremote is running with this skin in full screen mode. It is quite fast. I plan on doing a demo video when I am done. This is going to be model to be used for Elve or HSPro development. Something to show them what I am looking to do and work towards. So far I have about 30 minutes into this skin.

The Audio Control screen. Since I have now have a power on/off status from my Ocelot for each receiver I combined the on and off buttons as there is no chance of the status now being correct. This is done by hiding the on or off switch depending on the device power status for each receiver.

Album browser

I just found out today from reading the HST forum that there doesn't seem to be any way to include 'images' in a list box. This means that the small album covers are not possible when browsing. In Netremote the "GAC" can display a list of anything with settable numbers of rows and columns which can contain text or images. It is a very powerful funcion. I will pursue workarounds... still reading

My intention is to be able to use my Now Playing system from my new Droid 2 Global phone. Also I get asked by people what functionality is needed for HSTouch and Elve so this will be easier to show someone as I plan on a video demo of it being used when I am done. For now since it runs in Netremote it would only be of interest to those that use that. I have released many of my skins to the public in the past but I have not thought about doing so in the future (at least not for Netremote).

Lastly I figured I needed to see how I wanted the layout. Going from 1024X768 to 854X480 means I had to come up with ideas. Using Netremote allowed me the opportunity to create a working model for the Droid (and use it) until such time I can create a skin which runs natively on the Droid.
