I almost bought a thermal camera last year so I could check on behind-wall insulation and such around the house, but now I'm glad I waited because it seems the price has fallen like a rock from about $800-$1000 on low-end for a hybrid Fluke model and the (then) price-breaking $350 on the Flir One for the iPhone. Now there's a company (Seek Thermal) in Santa Barbara offering a $199 thermal camera for Android (and iPhone too):

While not an android user, I do like that it isn't form-factor specific.  I'd buy an android device just to connect it to (much cheaper than a dedicated iPhone!)... if you buy it and try it, please report back on how it works - I pay >$6K in electricity so this is on my list - I'm sure if I could walk around the house and catch every leak it'd pay for itself rather quickly.

Very familiar with the FLIR One - that was my reference point when I said that it was interesting that the one mentioned above isn't tied to a particular form factor, where the Flir One is tied very specifically to the iPhone 5S.

Reviews so far look very good- this would be less expensive than hiring someone to scan your house once. Definitely something to keep an eye on!
