Yugster has PlayOn (http://www.playon.tv) available here... http://www.yugster.com/dspPriv.aspx?aid=CD7049&cid=2323 for $19.97. Use coupon code YUGSAVE5/20 to bring it down to $14.97.

This can be used with a plugin to show Hulu, Netflix, Amazon and other VOD content on Sage TV and on game consoles.

ETA, I've never heard of Yugster before, but I just purchased this through them and I already got a redemtion code by email. I was able to redeem the code at PlayOn and I now have a registered copy.

ETA, like Terry said below, it looks like they extended this another day. If you didn't get in on it yesterday you still have time:)

This is a great deal. This works great with SageTV and the UPNP plugin (playon plugin). BTW the deal is still on today (I just bought one) so if you were sitting on the fence, time to jump off! ;)

If you own SageTV, or plan on buying it soon, this is a MUST-HAVE at that price. Don't hesitate!

Can you buy a VISA gift card locally and pay that way? Just enter your Canadian address as much as you can (so it isn't Fraud). Heck, you might even get away with using Paypal instead of a VISA card.

I'm trying to find the value of this. I can watch Netflix and others using my new Blueray player so what does this software do for a monthly fee that my blueray player doesn't?

Rupp, it isn't a monthly fee, it's a one time payment, which covers all minor updates. As for what it does that your BR player doesn't, it can play video from Hulu and many other sources. This would actually allow some people to drop their cable subscription, so it's pretty interesting. Plus you wouldn't have to switch inputs, you can watch this content on any hardware/software client, plus it doesn't take up space, etc. ;)

I am stilling missing something here.....

I already can get Hulu for free (http://www.hulu.com/labs/hulu-desktop), and the other dot.coms seem to be available if you can display your computer screen on your Tv.

Other than getting these programs into Sage (for recording and commercial skipping), what is the draw? and why pay for free content?

Sometimes people don't have enough tuners to record all your favorite shows, with Hulu posting many popular shows very quickly, you can still catch the episode if you missed it. There are also tons of movies, including many good ones for kids. You aren't paying for free content, you are paying for a piece of software which allows you to access this media from within SageTV (but also works with PS3, Wii etc). I am surprised there is this much confusion.

For me, at least, that *is* the draw. I'm trying to replace my Tivo with Sage and I wanted a way to get all my TV content available on Sage so that my wife and other people at my house can easily watch whatever they want. Even though Sage is running on a PC, exiting or minimizing sage and bringing up a browser is more complex than I want it to be, plus that isn't even possible on TV's where I will put media extenders.

For others, the ability to watch this content on game consoles that are already connected to a TV is the draw, since their PC may not be connected to the TV.

If you would just be watching the content on your PC (hooked up to a TV or not), then this is going to be of little use to you.

I purchased it and now can stream hulu and youtube to my TV using my Wii as the source, it's great. No need to hook up other cables or watch it on my laptop screen.

It's convenient if you don't have a pc hooked up to a television, the primary users of playon are using it to watch hulu and such via a ps3, xbox, or wii. But the Sage plugin is nice if your running sage or plan to in the near future.

I used playon to watch hulu via my ps3 for the three months it took Directv to come out and setup my service. It's also nice being able to control hulu with a remote while in bed. Not that the little lady enjoyed watching the entire robotech series with me.

Edit: I should also mention I payed quite a bit more for this and highly recommend it.
